Terms of Service - Downpatrick Vehicle Hire Services

Welcome to Downpatrick Vehicle Hire Services. These Terms of Service (Terms) govern your use of our website carhiredownpatrick.co.uk and our vehicle rental services. By using our services you accept these Terms.

1. Downpatrick Rental Agreement

All vehicle rentals at Downpatrick are subject to a detailed Rental Agreement provided at booking confirmation or at vehicle collection. This agreement contains the terms and conditions, insurance details, charges, and your responsibilities for the particular rental. If any conflict arises between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

2. Downpatrick Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Downpatrick, you must:

Be at least 21 years old when renting from Downpatrick (age restrictions may vary by vehicle type, and additional charges may apply to drivers under 25). Hold a full, valid driving licence appropriate to the vehicle category, maintained for the minimum period set out in the Rental Agreement. Provide valid photo identification, proof of address and a payment card in the driver’s name for the security deposit.

3. Reservations and Payment

Bookings may be made via our website, by phone, or in person at our Downpatrick office. A booking deposit may be requested to confirm your reservation. Full payment and a security deposit are normally payable on vehicle collection. All prices are shown in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable.

4. Downpatrick Collection and Return

You must inspect the vehicle thoroughly when collecting it from Downpatrick and report any existing damage immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by you and a Downpatrick representative at collection. Return the vehicle in the same condition as when collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage identified after return will be assessed and charged to the hirer in accordance with Downpatrick’s repair and administration rates.

5. Insurance and Liability for Downpatrick

Basic third-party insurance is included with all Downpatrick rentals. Full coverage details and excess amounts are set out in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to lower your financial exposure. We recommend you review these options before collecting the vehicle. You are responsible for damage or loss up to the excess stated in the Rental Agreement.

6. Cancellations and Amendments

Cancellation and amendment policies at Downpatrick vary by booking type and notice period. Consult your booking confirmation or the Rental Agreement for full details that apply to your reservation. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur fees.

7. Downpatrick Restrictions

You must not use the rented vehicle in Downpatrick for:

Use for any illegal purpose or activity in Downpatrick. Racing, rallying, off-roading, or other hazardous activities. Transporting hazardous or dangerous materials. Sub-letting to third parties or allowing unauthorized drivers. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Purposes for which the vehicle is not designed...

Violating these restrictions may result in Downpatrick terminating the rental immediately and imposing additional charges.

8. Limits on Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Northern Ireland law, Downpatrick shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or loss of profits, data or business, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total fees you paid to Downpatrick for the relevant services in the twelve months immediately before the claim.

9. Governing Law (Downpatrick)

These Terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Northern Ireland courts.

10. Changes to Downpatrick

Downpatrick may amend these Terms at any time. Amendments take effect immediately upon posting on Downpatrick's website. Continued use of Downpatrick's services constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.
