Welcome to Downpatrick Vehicle Hire Services. These Terms of Service (Terms) govern your use of our website carhiredownpatrick.co.uk and our vehicle rental services. By using our services

1. Downpatrick Rental Agreement

All vehicle rentals through Downpatrick are governed by a detailed Rental Agreement provided with your booking confirmation or at vehicle collection. This agreement sets out the applicable terms, conditions, insurance cover, charges, and your obligations for that rental. If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take precedence.

2. Downpatrick Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Downpatrick, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old (age requirements may differ by vehicle type; additional charges may apply for drivers under 25). Hold a full, valid driving licence for the relevant vehicle category, held for the minimum period specified in the Rental Agreement. Provide valid identification and proof of address, together with a payment method in the driver’s name as required by Downpatrick.

3. Reservations and Payment

  • Bookings can be made via our website, by phone, or in person at our Downpatrick location. A booking deposit may be required to confirm your reservation. 4. Downpatrick Vehicle Collection and Return

  • When collecting a vehicle from Downpatrick, you must inspect it thoroughly and report any existing damage immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed. Return the vehicle in the same condition as collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage found on return will be assessed and charged accordingly.

5. Liability and Insurance

  • Third-party cover is included with every Downpatrick rental. Complete coverage descriptions and the applicable excess amounts are provided in the Rental Agreement. Optional insurance products may be available to lower your financial exposure. Please review these options carefully. You remain responsible for damage or loss up to the excess specified in the agreement.

6. Cancellation and Changes — Downpatrick

Cancellation and amendment terms depend on the booking type and the required notice period. Please consult your Downpatrick booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for full details. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur fees.

7. Downpatrick Restrictions

You must not use Downpatrick's vehicle for:

  • Any illegal purpose or activity in Downpatrick. Racing, rallying, off-roading, or other hazardous activities. Transporting hazardous or harmful materials. Sub-letting to third parties or permitting unauthorized drivers. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Use for purposes the vehicle is not designed to perform...

Violating Downpatrick's restrictions may result in immediate rental termination and additional charges.

8. Downpatrick Liability Limits

To the maximum extent permitted by Northern Ireland law, Downpatrick shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data, or business, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the fees paid by you to Downpatrick for the relevant service in the twelve months prior to the claim.

9. Downpatrick Law

These Terms, issued by Downpatrick, are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Changes to Downpatrick Terms

Downpatrick may update these Terms at any time. Any changes take effect as soon as they are posted on the Downpatrick website. Continued use of Downpatrick services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
